Recent legal precedents have the Christian community up in arms over the fact that God and His standards are not being upheld by our culture. Things that once were considered profane and immoral are being encouraged as normal behavior to our children, even in their schools. Make no mistake, the hidden agenda by forces of evil is to remove the mention and presence of God from our world. This agenda includes the taming of the church into a silent, powerless, irrelevant institution. If we want things to change, we need not look any further than our own lives. Many people of faith have been playing into the hands of this agenda for years with a decrease in prayer, a loss of passion in worship, a lack of hunger for God’s Words, and a decline in Sabbath commitments. We have no right to preach condemnation to the world until we first restore God to the throne of our own hearts and lives. People expect the church to judge and condemn, but judgment begins at the house of God. We want to insist that the world turn from their wicked ways, but the answer is found in our own personal revival: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14. We have no right to complain that the world is pulling away from God when the church has been doing it for years.
